As both a female entrepreneur and coach, Whitney believes that we must always have goals to motivate and challenge our mind and body. She co-founded Taylored Training in Canada to completely change the way people experience fitness.

 

1) Why is it important for you to prioritise exercise in your schedule?

We know that exercise will make our bodies healthier, help us prevent disease, help us have a more positive mindset and ultimately exercise will make us feel good and allow us to do everything we want to accomplish in life! I can’t think of any reason to not make it a part habit that is engrained in your lifestyle!

It is so important to me to make fitness a regular part of my day in order to honor the gift of my health, ‘walk my talk’ as a coach and hopefully inspire and educate anyone who is ready to make their health a priority.

 

2) What does your current exercise routine involve?

My current exercise routine involves fitting in fitness wherever and whenever I can! I never have a set time of day that I train due to my schedule, so my training happens when I can carve out 30-60 minutes in my day.

Sometimes my training happens on my back deck, sometimes in our home basement gym and also of course at my studio, Taylored Training Fitness, either alongside our community members or with one of my coaches.

Over the years I have transitioned my training to explore different tools like the kettlebell, steel mace, jump rope, vipr and indian clubs.

Incorporating more multi-directional movement within my training has been hugely beneficial for increasing my mobility as well as improvement my posture and movement.

 

3) Do you think that exercise has played a role in your success?

Exercise has changed my life and will change anyone’s life! As an overweight kid, I lacked confidence in not only the way I looked but the way I felt. My transition from dance into teaching fitness classes as a teenager allowed me to partner my extensive background in dance and movement with my new-found love for helping people get stronger.

 

4) Who is your role model?

My role model is my late father. He had an incredible way of making people feel special. He was an amazing listener, very passionate about helping people and had such an incredible growth mindset. He was always keen to learn new things, meet new people and most importantly he was a very kind man.

 

5) What is your favourite quote?

‘How you do anything is how you do everything.”
